The catch is that a standard pressure washer is the wrong tool for the job, the granule coating on asphalt shingles is not built to withstand that kind of force, and stripping it exposes the shingle underneath to UV damage. We use a soft-wash method instead, low pressure and a cleaning solution formulated to kill the algae and rinse it away safely.
